Greetings from SAI ANUGRAHA. 15th Aug is very important for all Indians and this year's 15th Aug was most memorable day for 6 SAI ANUGRAHA family members-Atchayan, Yoganand, Deva, Sudarshan, Padmaraj & myself.
As you all know we planned to distribute 200 school bags to students at SFRD(Society For Rural Development) School at Jawathu hills on Independence day along with visit to yelagiri hills, bhiman falls, Vainu Bappu observatory, Kavalur.
14th August 2010 :
Our program started on 14th Aug. We hired a cab for the entire trip and started to tirupattur at 4.30 AM from saidapet and we reached atchayan's house at tirupattur at 8.45 AM and had breakfast and took rest for a while. We started to Yelagiri hills at 11.10 AM and reached the place at 11.55 AM.
The climate is little different from our Chennai climate. We all went for boating and enjoyed peddling the boats for 30mins. It was a real test to our fitness. We all enjoyed it and started coming down at 1 PM and reached atchayan's house at 1.45 PM.
We Had lunch and took some rest and started to observatory at Kavalur by 4.20 PM. Reached the place and were waiting to go inside. As it was raining that day and sky was cloudy they did not allow anyone to observatory. We returned back and had dinner at atchayan's house and slept.
15th August 2010
Long awaited day has come. We woke up early in the morning and started to school at 6 AM and reached by 8AM. We were welcomed by school staff. We had our breakfast at the school and met main pillars of SFRD Arjunan sir & Silambi ma'am.
Arjunan sir was briefing us about the history of SFRD and how his mission is instrumental in uplifting the lives of tribal community in jamathu hills, fund raising for the entire program etc. Suddenly he said, Mr. Kishore you are the chief guest for today's program and you have to start today's proceedings by lighting the lamp and offering garland to Mahatma Gandhiji's photo. He also asked me to do the flag hoisting and to take the guard of honor from NSS Brigade, GREEN Brigade, Scouts & Guides Brigade of the school in march past.
I was reluctant in the beginning, but I thought this is honor given to our SAI ANUGRAHA family from SFRD and accepted the same. After march past, students exhibited their talents in cultural programs. Arjunan sir with his devoted staff, not only imparting education but also training them in different extracurricular activities and encouraging them in doing social service and making them perfect in all fields.
In between the cultural programs we requested Arjunan sir, Silambi ma'am and Amar sir to distribute the school bags and ETSC certificates to students. After the distribution again cultural programs continued and all were excellent. Over all it was a great day for all of us and we all enjoyed a lot. In the end, we had our lunch at school and started to Tirupattur.
On the way to tirupattur, we went to Bhiman falls. The falls are in dense forest and we all enjoyed the beauty of falls and the place. We started back to tirupattur after spending more than an hour at the falls. We reached atchayan's house at 5.45 and started to Chennai at 6 PM and reached Chennai at 10.30 PM.
